
In the Fall/Winter 2006 issue, we pictured a program for a 30-year reunion of the Washington [CT] Wide-Awakes held in Rockville, CT on November 20, 1890. It now appears that another 30-year reunion was held in Rockville a month prior, on October 20, 1890, at the Rockwell House. This embossed souvenir menu was given away at that event and includes seven pages detailing the courses of the banquet, accompanied by literary quotes apropos of food. The final page indicates a public reception would be held at the Memorial Building that evening. What… no torchlight procession?
