We picture an interesting postal-used campaign cover that was recently offered on eBay. It looks perfectly legit; however, the seller disclosed the illustration was an “added cachet” recently printed on a circa 1860 postal-used cover. No deception intended on the part of the seller, but this represents just one additional hurdle collectors are faced with. An original of this design can be recognized by the fact that the top part of the design extends practically across the entire cover, leaving only a small space for the postage stamp. The rest of the design is flush with the edges.
